Holiday infused with Swim Training for young US-based Swimmer

Seth Saofaiga Bates took his Samoa holiday to the next level by training with the National Development Squad at the Tuanaimato Aquatic Centre. Seth is the son of Daisy Semu Bates who hails from Falelatai and Avao, Savai'i. He and his family were back in Samoa for the summer holidays visiting family.

Seth, a 14 year old, attending Hays High School in Austin, Texas, swims for the Hays Swim Club which trains over 200 swimmers. Seth said he enjoyed his time training with the team and also liked the challenge of training larger aerobic sets so he is prepared for the season ahead. His key strokes are back and fly sprint events and he wants to work harder at middle distance events.

The team welcomed Seth easily into the squad and looks forward to his return next year. Samoa Swimming encourages swimmers to join in the fun and keep training, even while on holiday, as it is a great way to connect and learn more about swimming and life in Samoa simultaneously.
